Dan Brandt

Here’s my biography page. I have one because every composer has one.

I’m never sure what to write for these. It’s an uncomfortable task to praise yourself on your own website (and probably in the third person, to distance yourself from your self-adulation.) And of course, I’m supposed to only mention the good things; I shouldn’t bring up that one time I lined up on the wrong side of the field before a halftime show in high school marching band.

Ultimately, I’d ask that you just listen to my music. That’s what this site is meant to share. Got a link at the top of the page! Also, one right here!

All that being said, I’ll list a few facts, if only to distinguish myself from the other handful of Dan Brandts out there who are composers:

-I attended Youngstown State University for a Bachelor’s in Music Composition, and graduated in 2010.

-I completed an internship at NFL Films in 2009. Did you know that the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy theme from Spongebob Squarepants was originally written for NFL Films by Sam Spence? Not sure what it says about me, but my biggest takeaway.

-I attended Colorado University in Boulder for a Masters is Music Composition, and graduated in 2013.

-Long walks on the beach.
